Empirical Research:
A 90-day pilot study was conducted in five infertility centers across 46 male patients between the ages of 22 and 40 years of age with oligospermia (sperm count <20 million/mL semen). The men were randomized to treatment with ashwagandha root extract of 225mg, three times daily, or placebo capsules thrice daily. Outcomes were conclusive with an uplift in sperm count, semen volume, sperm motility, and testosterone levels observed.

A double-blind study was conducted involving 57 men of ages 18 to 50 years old. Subjects received 300mg of ashwagandha root extract twice daily or a placebo. Following baseline measurements, subjects underwent resistance training for eight weeks and were measured at the study's end. Outcomes showed the men receiving ashwagandha saw a significantly greater increase in muscle strength, size, and testosterone levels whilst a reduction in exercise-induced muscle damage and body fat percentage.
