Why every ingredient earns its place
Herbal chicken soup is one of the most nourishing things you can make. The kind of soup that takes hours on a stovetop, fills the whole kitchen with that warm herby aroma, and tastes like it was made with a lot of care. This version keeps all those comforting herbs and makes it the easy way. Everything into the rice cooker, 3 hours on soup mode, and you get on with your day.
A bowl of this is not just comforting. It is genuinely restorative. The kind of soup you come back to whenever your body needs a little extra care.

Tips
"Stay in. Let your rice cooker make it for you. 🤍"
Tip 01
Use a whole chicken for maximum flavour. A whole chopped chicken gives you a mixture of darker and lighter meat plus the carcass, all of which release collagen and flavour into the broth over the 3-hour cook. If you prefer, chicken drumsticks or a whole leg work well too.
Tip 02
The 3 hours is important. Unlike the shorter rice cooker recipes, this one genuinely needs the full cooking time for the herbs to release their properties into the broth. The longer it cooks, the deeper the flavour and the more nourishing the soup becomes.
Tip 03
No seasoning needed during cooking. The herbs, dates, and longan add their own natural sweetness and depth. Taste the soup once it is done and add a small amount of salt only if you feel it needs it. Most people find it does not.
Tip 04
This is a great meal to make on a rest day. Put it on in the morning, set it to soup mode, and it is ready by lunch or dinner. The rice cooker does all the work while you rest, which is exactly what this kind of nourishing soup is made for.
Something we add when it is ready
Pour yourself a warm bowl and while it is still hot, stir in a scoop of Bovine Collagen. It dissolves completely into the soup without changing the flavour at all. The warm broth activates it perfectly, and you get all the skin, hair, and nail benefits alongside one of the most nourishing soups you can make. ✨
What we stir in when the soup is ready
Bovine Collagen
for healthy skin, hair, nails, and joints
Stir a scoop into your warm bowl. It dissolves completely and works with the nourishing broth to support your skin from the inside out.
- Hydrolysed Bovine Collagen Peptides (20g). Science-backed support for skin elasticity, hair strength, and joint health
- 2kDa Low Molecular Weight. The smaller the molecular weight, the faster the absorption and the quicker the results
